More pictures of our Halloween fun

Here's a few more pictures of our Halloween fun. It rained here. All day, and more significantly, all evening. The kids were still willing to go trick or treating in the rain, but mom and dad weren't really willing to take them out in it. Partly due to the fact that we don't even own an umbrella. Rachel said it wa okay because since she was Elsa she would just turn the rain to ice and she wouldn't even need a jacket because "the cold never bothered me anyway." The faith that girl had in her Halloween costume and the powers it gave her just made me laugh. So instead of trick or treating, we had a fun dinner and bobbed for donuts an played don't break the ice all evening. Rachel and Kent loved going to see the few trick or treaters that actually did brave the rain and Rachel kept sharing candy from her own bucket with them, lol. 

Rachel was trying to show me a grumpy face in this next one. She couldn't stop her eyes from smiling though.

So I feel like the next two pictures need a little explaination. I was giving Elijah tummy time. He was partially propped up on a pillow covered with a blanket. Elijah rolled over off the pillow and I cheered for him, soooooo Kent went and got his own pillow and blanket and rolled all over it seeking his own cheering. Rachel then saw it working for both of her brothers and proceeded to get her own pillow and blanket to put over the top so that she could pretend to be a baby and practice rolling over. These kids totally make me laugh.

Jacob went to the store to get some things to make our Halloween dinner more fun and while he was there he found these:

Yes, that is an octopus. I've had octopus before and really quite liked it, but it never looked so much like an octopus. I was a little hesitant to try it, but it was yummy. Rachel really really wanted to try it because she thought it was cute but decided she didn't want to eat the whole thing because it didn't "taste like pumpkin." We asked her why she thought it would taste like pumpkin and she said, "because it's Halloween!" Kent also had one and liked it at first, but because it was so chewy (and he put the whole thing in his little mouth) he ended up having to spit it out because he couldn't chew it up.

It was a good Halloween, and I actually prefered having our own fun little party to going out and trick or treating. The kids had plenty of candy and treats anyway and it was fun to just spend the evening together. Now to convince the kids to do that next year even if it isn't raining. :D
