Goodbye Hair

So I've been growing my hair out for a long time, and lately I've been wanting to cut it. I've been in a hair rut where I where my hair in a pony tail every single day. I decided that I wanted to give it to locks of love but I wasn't sure if it was long enough. It had been about a year and a half since I had last had a hair cut (mostly because of laziness). Rachel's hair was getting pretty long as well and she hated getting the snarls brushed out of her hair, so Saturday we went to get our hair cut together. Me with the intention of just getting a trim, and with the intention of Rachel getting a bob cut. I saw how cute her hair was and asked if my hair was long enough to donate and still be the length I wanted. To my surprise, the stylist said I had enough hair to cut off 11 inches! So I did it! 

I love it. Both my hair and Rachel's hair. Rachel thought it was so fun that we had "twinner hair." (Now I just need to figure out how to do mine!)

Rachel and I had a fun girly day complete with haircuts, grocery shopping, sparkly painted fingernails and toenails (in which I discovered how hard it is to bend over long enough to paint mine these days) and new fun lips.

Yesterday we received great news!

Elijah Xavier is on his way! 

And we couldn't be more thrilled!

We can hardly wait to meet him!

Ultrasounds are the best!

It was so fun to see this little munchkin that I've been feeling wiggle around for 3 weeks inside me. I've been feeling for a while that we needed to have a boy name ready just in case. It was actually kind of interesting. The boy name we had picked out previously just didn't fit. Jacob and I thought and thought and every name we came up with and both liked just didn't feel right for this little guy, not until we came up with Elijah Xavier. It's not a name we had ever considered previously but for some reason, that is what this little guy needs to be named. Oh I just love him so much already!

ABC's

My Kent boy is 21 months and has finally learned his ABC's which is a pretty significant thing for him. Rachel has always been willing to learn just for the sake of learning. Kent has almost had to be tricked into learning them because he is so active that he isn't as willing to sit on my lap and learn. He is super smart, but also just super active. I tried to get a video of him sitting and doing his ABC's but on my own with out someone else to hold the camera with him as wiggly as he is, it was almost impossible.

He has a few other things he has started doing all by himself. One is eating cereal. I am okay with letting my kids make messes and I love that Kent has always wanted to feed himself, but something like cereal that has milk in it which has huge potential mess written all over it, I wait to let them feed themselves. I have given him a few chances with cereal, but always decided he was too little. Yesterday, we tried again, and he can do it. He still makes a mess, but at least he doesn't dump the bowl out while it still has milk in it. He was pretty proud of him self for feeding himself cereal. I love this cute boy!

The other thing he has started doing all by himself, is saying prayers. We have been helping him say prayers for quite a while, but now he has started saying his own. They are sooooooo stinking cute. Yesterday he was cracking me up because he was going around the house with his arms folded saying cute little prayer after cute little prayer. He probably said 20 prayers yesterday morning alone. I'm sure Heavenly Father was smiling just as much as I was yesterday, hearing his sweet little prayers. 

Libre Soy

So yesterday was our movie night for the week, and once again Rachel and Kent chose to watch Frozen. While Jacob was turning it on, he jokingly said to Rachel, "Do you want to watch it in Spanish?" Rachel very enthusiastically responded, "YES!" So also just as a joke, he actually turned it on in Spanish. And they kids watched the whole thing. During the movie, I kept asking Rachel, "Do you want me to change it to English now?" And every time she would say, "No, I want to watch it in Spanish." She thought it was soooooo cool to watch it in Spanish. I thought maybe Kent would complain about it or just not watch it, because he doesn't have the best attention span for movies, but he absolutely loves Frozen, and he watched the whole thing. In fact, I had to keep pausing it because he was forgetting to eat his dinner because of how engrossed he was in the movie. Rachel still laughed at all the right parts. I've seen a few things in Spanish, and I was always a little bugged because their voices are different than I am expecting, but they actually did a really good job with making the voices similar to the ones in English.

Also, Rachel discovered a new favorite food this week. On Monday night I made breakfast burritos with eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and cheese. I made a ton so that I could freeze them and we could use them for breakfasts.  Well on Tuesday afternoon, Rachel was super hungry and kept asking if we could have egg burritos again for dinner. She liked them enough to have them two nights for dinner in a row. I talked to Jacob about it and he said, "Sure, why not!" So we got out some of the frozen burritos and ate them for dinner on Tuesday. Usually when we have our movie nights we have pizza, but last night when we were preparing to have our movie night, Rachel said, "We should have a egg burrito movie night! That would be really fun!" I wasn't going to do it because we had eaten them already the 2 previous nights, but I was feeling sick yesterday all day and I had had a hard day with kids fighting and stuff and so again I talked to Jacob and he was all for it. Because it was a super easy meal that I wouldn't have to fight anyone to eat, we had breakfast burritos for the third night in a row for dinner. Tonight I really will make something else for dinner. I think it is fun though that Rachel has a new favorite food. Usually when I ask her what we should have for dinner, she always says, "Pizza or raman!" Now she chose breakfast burritos even over pizza!
