Catch Up

I've been having a hard time finding time to blog lately. I've started a few blog posts with pictures and never gotten around to writing on them. Here is one that has been hanging out for a while. I still don't have much time to write much, but at least I'll have the pictures up for when I want to look back on them.

This teddy bear's name is Scratch. He was Jacob's when he was a kid and Rachel just loves him! He has to sleep with her for every nap and bedtime.


Kent looks so little in this picture to me! He is growing so fast! Crazy that this was just a couple of weeks ago!

I've been experimenting with Rachel's hair. Here is a hair do I really liked on her! I love her cute blond hair!

Sick

We have the sickies at our house. My poor kiddos have had fevers and runny noses and a cough and Rachel has reported a sore throat. Jacob and I have had the sore throat part of it, and we are hoping it doesn't turn into the rest of it.

Yesterday when Rachel seemed the sickest she didn't let it slow her down much. Every so often she would start to whine and I would ask her what I could do to help her and she would say, "Make me happy, please."

Today after breakfast while I was cleaning up the kitchen, she found my phone and turned on the primary songs. She was so funny because she would get really really excited when she would hear a song she recognized. Then on the songs she didn't recognize she would be listening really hard and every so often she would laugh and say, "They said Joseph Smith, Mom!" or "They said Jesus!" "Obey!"

She is such a sweet little girl! I love that she loves to listen to the primary songs, and it cracks me up that my almost 2 year old can turn them on all by herself.
 

These are her partners in crime today. She is so funny, because she has to have all three with her!

Rachel got really excited when she heard Follow the Prophet start playing on my phone. She started laughing and then she started singing it all on her own.

She sure makes me love my job!

Park Fun

My little Rachel girl is so cute! She would go to the park every day and stay there all day if she could have her way! I love living  on base because there are tons of parks in the housing areas. We could easily walk to 5 or 6 different parks from our house. 

Rachel always thinks this picture is of an ice cream cone. No matter how many times I tell her it is a jelly fish she still insists that it is ice cream.

She also insists on tasting it no matter how many times I tell her not to. Maybe one day she will learn to not lick random playground equipment.

I love this next picture! She was sliding down on her tummy like a penguin and I love the look of pure joy on her face!

I hope Kent likes to play outside as much as Rachel does! So far he just sleeps when we go to the park. I love this happy little girl of mine!

Blessing Day

I've been a little behind on blogging lately and I promised Jacob's mom I would put these pictures up, so here there are. Sorry it's taken me so long!

Kent was blessed by his Daddy on October 14, 2012, and the blessing couldn't have been more beautiful. The rest of the day, not so much. I felt so crazy that day. We have church at 9 and I had to teach sharing time in Primary, so I felt like we were rushed and I didn't have the time to take the pictures I wanted that morning. Then Rachel had an accident on the way to church (she never has accidents anymore) and Jacob had to run home to get a new outfit for her before church started. I was glad we came extra early to set up the primary room so he had time to run home! Then after church I got mastitis and had to get a blessing of my own and I definitely didn't feel up to taking pictures then either what with feeling dizzy and the fever and the chills and everything else that comes with that. Anyway here are some of the pictures we did get.

The family! I feel so lucky and blessed to have the family I have! 

There were two other babies blessed in church that same morning, both girls, and Kent easily out weighed them by 3 pounds each.


The few minutes of peace I had during the day was looking into the eyes of my sweet boy. I just love this boy so much! 

 

Isn't his tux the cutest thing ever? Jacob's mom brought it down for him.

Grandma forgot her glasses in Utah, so Grandpa had to hem Kent's pants the night before the blessing. Thanks Grandpa!

 

Since I didn't get the pictures I wanted on his blessing day, I tried to get a few more a week later. I wish I knew how to take pictures, but I got a few of the kids together at least.  I was lucky I didn't wait any longer because it was really hard to get Kent back into his blessing outfit. This kid is growing like a weed!

This last picture makes me laugh. I didn't put a onsie on him for the last little photo shoot because I didn't think it would be a problem, but he was so big that his tummy kept showing. I put him on the ground to change him out of his outfit and he immediately started to stretch and this was the result! I love that little belly button! :)
