Grandparents

On Saturday, we took the kids to see Grandpa in his big truck. He let them get inside and they though it was the coolest thing! 

My kids are absolutely loving living with grandparents, and I am extremely grateful to them for letting is stay with them. We still miss Jacob, but they have made this so much easier on us than it would have otherwise been. Grandpa came home today and roughed up the kids a little and they just soaked it up. He played with them the way their dad plays with them and I could see their faces just light up. I was grateful to him for playing with them when their daddy wasn't able to. 

And let me just tell you a little about Grandma. Grandma has been so generous with her time and energy and love with my kids. The first thing they ask me in the morning is "Can we go upstairs and find grandma?" They love her and how willing she is to talk to them and play with them. They can just feel her love she has for them.

I think it's been fun spending so much time with her too!

I feel so blessed with my in-laws. They are the best second family a girl could ever hope for and they are blessing my family's lives in more ways then they even know. 

3 Months

So Elijah turned 3 months a few days ago, and I don't have many pictures to show and I feel bad. My phone (my main picture taker) was out of commission for a couple of weeks and then I had some other issues with it, and well anyway, I don't have very many pictures, but you'll just have to trust me when I say he is super cute! This little boy is such a joy to be around! He has the biggest smiles that he will give out freely to anyone who will take the time to talk to him, and if you talk to him long enough he will talk back. He will sit and coo and coo at you and it is sooooo sweet and cute. I got the cutest video of him talking and I really wish my phone would let me upload it here, but it won't. He has really mellowed out, and is happy most of the time. He loves to watch his siblings play and I can hardly wait til he can play with them! He will love that! He usually wakes up twice during the night to nurse but the last few nights it has been more than that. He still loves bath time and I love to give him baths with his brother. He has been sucking on his thumb, and has been hating the binky more and more. He likes to suck on my finger. He is wearing size 3 diapers and is in size 9 month clothes and 12 month onsies. He is growing too big too fast and I just love him to pieces. I'm so glad he is in our family!

Grandma's glasses

So Kent thinks it is great fun to snag Grandma's reading glasses and walk around the house with them. So that he wouldn't get a headache, Grandma popped the lenses out of a cheap pair and gave them to him. He has worn these glasses literally ALL DAY LONG! The things grandma's do for their grandchildren. ;)

Forever

It feels like forever since I've blogged last, and so much has happened, and I have no pictures to show for it because I've been with out a phone for most of it. Since I blogged last, we have moved, spent six nights at hotels, spent 3 nights in with my family, had my first Thrive party, spent a week with Jacob's family, and just today Jacob had to leave for work. He will be gone for about 2 1/2 months and in the meantime the kids and I are staying with his parents. We had a somewhat tearful (the tears were mostly mine) goodbye this morning around 5 o'clock and then all of us left at home were thankfully able to get back to sleep after a while. I'm thankful that the kids went back to sleep so we didn't have to start this day of transitions extra early. I'm thankful that we have two cars so that Jacob has a way to get around when he is gone. I'm thankful we had the means to upgrade Jacob's phone so he could have a GPS on his super long drive. I'm thankful that Jacob's parents are so willing to let us stay with them, and for so long. I'm thankful to have the kind of relationship with my in laws that I would feel comfortable living at their house. I'm thankful for my three cute kids that love their daddy.
