Little Baby

So we had some surprising news at my Dr appointment today, and no it's not twins. I'm not as far along as I had thought. My baby is only measuring 12 weeks instead of almost 16 like I thought it should be. I was shocked. I knew my dates could be a little off, but I had no idea they would be a whole month off! My doctor said that when I took the first pregnancy test (when I was sure I was pregnant but the test was negative) I would have only conceived about 6 days before! How crazy is that?  Anyway, I got to see our little little person, and hear the heart beat and I am happy. I'm glad to finally have a real due date (even if it's a month later than I thought it would be). It also explains some of my bizarre morning sickness, like with the late start and the fact that I've still been sick. I'm a little disappointed to not be as far along as I had hoped, but it's okay. I was super happy to get to see my little one! Here's a couple of pictures. :) 

Bath time

My kids are so fun. They love bath time. Sometimes they will play in the tub for an hour, while I sit in with them and read a book or blog or play with them or something. Lately though, they have both been requesting showers instead of baths. I plug the bottom and then when they water is their normal depth I turn the water off and it turns into a bath. Kent is funny because he doesn't actually Iike to stand in the shower. He just likes to sit and play in the water at the bottom which is funny because he still has been requesting to have a shower. Silly kid. 

Broken

I feel like an old women first thing in the morning. Aren't you supposed to feel rested and at your best first thing in the morning? I spend the nights tossing and turning from one side to the other, trying to relieve the achiness in my hips and back and then sometimes I wake up with my arms asleep because I am sleeping on my back or tummy. I remember this from other pregnancies, but I don't remember it quite so early on in the pregnancy. I think my body must just be getting old.

In other pregnancy news, I can not wait til tomorrow afternoon!!! I'm getting an ultrasound!  I'm getting an ultrasound! I'm getting an ultrasound! For me, who is relatively healthy, I feel most dr appointments are unnecessary, especially once you start feeling the baby move all the time (I haven't yet), but I would never miss the ultrasound appointments! They are the best ever! It's so fun to finally see the little wiggly thing that is making you sick and uncomfortable. It totally makes it all worth it! 

April Fool's

For April Fool's Day, we decided that dessert was on the menu for dinner. We had cupcakes and purple punch.

The cupcakes are made out of meatloaf with mashed potato frosting. I've never been the biggest fan of meatloaf and in the almost 6 years since we've been married, Jacob has never requested it and I've never made it, but for the sake of doing something fun, I decided it was worth a shot. And...everybody loved them!! I almost didn't make this because I didn't know if anyone would eat it (me included), but everyone ate it happily.

As for our punch...it was really jello, and it was really funny watching the kids try to drink it. :D

Don't cry over spilt milk

I was bringing in the groceries today, (with Kent's help) and I dropped a gallon of milk in the garage. A brand new gallon of milk. And the carton broke and made a huge mess in the garage. Good thing I've learned not to cry over spilt milk. Blah!
