Miscelaneous moving pics

So moving got the better of me when it came to blogging and I have bunch of pictures to share from our vacation which was almost 2 months ago! I can't believe its already been 2 months!!
Anyway I have a few catch up posts coming up.

Kent is so wild. When the movers came and packed all our stuff he wanted to climb up all of the towers of boxes. Jacob was cute and quite worried that he would knock over one of the stacks onto himself and moved all of the boxed down to the garage for the night.

The kids loved staying at the temporary living facility while our stuff was out of our house and we were cleaning it. I love this picture of them kissing themselves in the mirror. :)

At a brand new park and the kids favorite part? The sand.

So on our long drive to Monterey, since we had two cars we had to do all of our long distance driving caravan style. Me in the van with the kids with Jacob following with our car. We were grateful to have our second vehicle but it would have been so much easier if we had been able to drive together. It was nice that while we were just vacationing in San Diego we could leave one car at the hotel and take the other together. People in San Diego drive CRAZY!! I was so grateful that Jacob did most of that driving!

So I told Rachel to smile and this is the face I got.

Little Stinker!

I love little sleeping babies in the car!

So we brought Kent's high chair with us so we would have a place to put him during meals, but something we didn't have was a chair to put it on. Kent was funny because he figured out really quick that he could move around even while he was strapped into his high chair. In this picture he was mad because he didn't want to be in the high chair at all, but it was kind of funny to see him crawling around with a high chair strapped to his bum. He doesn't let anything keep him down.

Since we didn't have toys to play with in the hotels, the kids found other things to play with instead, namely the cooler. Rachel got in and pretended she was a yellow birthday cake with yellow frosting and yellow candles and yellow sprinkles. She was a birthday cake for Kent. :) I love that little cake!

The first thing he would do when we would get to a new hotel (if it had a table in it) was climb on the table. Seriously, have I mentioned that he is wild?

While we were on vacation, Kent figured out how to open doors that have handles on them. When we moved to our new house we discovered that our whole house has handles instead of doorknobs which means I can't contain him in any room or keep him out of any room. It has been interesting. We have learned to keep our front door dead bolted at all times so he doesn't sneak out and run into the street!

7- What is your dream job and why?

My dream job is being a wife and mother. Honest. I seriously love my job and don't want any other. I went to school to be a nurse and I would have loved doing that if I didn't have a family, but I couldn't be happier with my life. I can't imagine any other job that could give you the level of fulfillment that I receive from taking care of my kids all day long every day. I love the sticky kisses and hugs. I love the tickles and giggles. I love the pretending and playing. I love the book reading and coloring. I love wiping away their tears and kissing them better. I love seeing them progress and learn new things even if those new things are climbing on the counter or pulling all the wet wipes off the counter. I love meaning so much to them and helping them know how much they mean to me. And even though I don't make much in the way of money doing this job, I make so much more back spiritually and emotionally that it is all worth it. Even the never ending cleaning and laundry and diaper changes aren't too bad because it means we have a home to clean, food to eat, clothes to wear, and family to love.

A Blessing

So last night I was feeling a lot of anxiety about our trip to St. George. Anxiety about the drive alone with two little ones. Anxiety about leaving Jacob. Anxiety about my niece's surgery. Anxiety about watching my other niece and nephew because I haven't spent much time with them for a long time. Jacob was sweet and offered to give me a priesthood blessing. (If you don't know what that is click here.) It was a very sweet and powerful blessing and through it all I was filled with an overwhelming feeling of love from my Heavenly Father. Among other things we were promised a safe return home. I had a rough day with the kids yesterday, trying to get everything ready for our trip, and dealing with kids that weren't being as nice as they should have been, and after my rough day it was really neat to be able to feel the love of my Father in Heaven letting me know that he is pleased with me and that no matter what he will always love me.
Last night, Kent slept all night long with out waking up. He NEVER does that! I know that it was another blessing from my Heavenly Father helping us all to get the sleep that we needed to go safely and happily on our way this morning. I'm so thankful for a husband that holds the priesthood and is worthy of it. I'm thankful that if I ever am in need of a blessing I don't have to wonder if he is worthy and able to give me one. I am very thankful for a Heavenly Father who loves me and who guides me in all I do. I know he loves me.

St. George

Tomorrow morning I am taking my two kids and starting the 10 1/2 hour drive to Southern Utah...without my husband. Yes I'm crazy, but I'm also brave. I'm going to go help watch two of my sister's kids while she is 5 hours away with her oldest child who will be getting her second open heart surgery. My niece is 6. I can't imagine having to watch your child endure something so painful and scary, let alone being the child that has to go through it!
If anyone reading this could please take an extra few seconds in your prayers to mention my niece I would appreciate it. One of my other sisters is also going to help me with the kids. Between the two of us we will be taking care of 5 kids ages 4,2,1,1,and 6 months. While you are mentioning my niece in your prayers, will you mention us too? It will be fun to spend time with those cute little munchkins, but I'd be kidding myself if I didn't acknowledge the fact that its going to be crazy too.
I know it's only going to be a few weeks, but I have a hard time leaving Jacob. He is so good and supportive. He didn't even question my going and helping  when I told him about Sydney's surgery, in fact before I could even ask him if I could go help out he just assumed I would. I love that boy!
The craziness starts tomorrow! Wish us luck!

Kiddos

Here's just a few pictures I took before we moved. Its only been about 6 weeks since we left, but already I can't believe how much they are changing, especially my Kent boy!! HE looks so little in these pictures to me.

This next one makes me laugh. Poor Kent boy, this is unfortunately a common occurance at our house. We are always telling her to not give Kent hugs around the neck.

I love these two munchkins of mine!
