Yesterday I finally met with my OB and I really like him. I was so nervous about the appointment, but he was very kind and he put me at ease. He felt my stomach and said that my uterus is measuring at about 16 weeks which is about how far along we thought I was, but then he did an ultrasound and all of the measurements he took on our baby make our baby out to be a 14 week baby. My doctor did tell me that now is really the worst time to measure to see how far along the baby is and that I could be 15 weeks along, but for now he is going to change my due date to November 16 instead of November 6 like we thought. Bummer!
It was so neat to be able to hear my baby's heart beat and to get to see our cute little bundle on the ultrasound. It made everything a little more real, and made all of this barfing I've been doing a lot more worth it. I was so overcome by love when I saw my baby on that screen that I couldn't help getting a little teary. It was so cute, when the doctor was showing me my baby's hands, one of them started wiggling as if it knew it was being seen and it was saying, "Hi Mom!" Words can't even express how excited I was to finally see my cute little baby and to know that he or she is doing alright. Some other good news is that I think I felt my baby move yesterday morning for the first time. I was laying in bed and I felt something right where my baby is three different times. I also thought I felt him or her move this morning also. I haven't felt anything when I have been up and moving and focused on other things during the day, but I am pretty sure that is what I felt when I was lying still in bed.
When I told my doctor about our predicament with Jacob's graduation being the 21st of October and then our planned move to Texas he said he really didn't think it was a good idea me moving within the last 2 months of my pregnancy and with our due date moved back farther we really aren't sure what we are going to do now. I wish we knew what date Jacob had to be in Texas after his graduation. Right now we are trying to decide if I should move out to Texas a month before Jacob graduates or if I should just stay here and take our chances. If I did move to Texas early there is always the chance that Jacob might fail his test and have to stay here for another 3 months and I would be stuck in Texas alone or there is the chance that I might have the baby early and that Jacob wouldn't be there for the birth. If I stay here then if everything else goes according to plan and Jacob does well on his test then he would be going to Texas about 3 weeks before I am due at which point I really should be driving that far and Jacob might miss the birth of our baby anyway. This is just something that we have been a little worried about lately, but I know Heavenly Father is in control and that it will all work out for the best.

Happy!

I got tagged by my sister Caralee so here it goes.

Top 10 things that make me happy!

1. Jacob

Jacob is the number one thing that makes me happy! I love being married to my oh so handsome and perfect husband! He has been taking extra good care of me since I've been pregnant. I don't know what I would do with out him and I never want to find out! My very favorite thing is spending time with him. It doesn't matter what we are doing, we could be watching Lois and Clark, making dinner, or just talking with each other, but he is my best friend and I love him a lot!

2. Nieces and nephews

I love being an aunt! It is the greatest job in the world! I am the proud aunt of 11 almost 12 cute nieces and nephews! I just love how excited they get when they see me and how much fun we always have when we are together! It is really cute, I have one niece who adopted me as a sister and everytime I talk to her mom on the phone I can hear her in the saying in the background, "My sister, my sister! I want to talk to my sister!"

3. Books

I love books! I love curling up in our chair and escaping into a book all day long! I love to read new books I haven't read before and go explore the new adventures it brings to me, or re-reading an old favorite! I love buying new books. It is an expensive habbit and I'm sorry to say that we are out of room on our bookshelves. We are going to have to buy a new one pretty soon if I'm going to keep up on our book collection.

4. Snuggling with my husband when we first wake up on the weekend

There is nothing better than snuggling with my cute hubby first thing in the morning, especially when we don't have anywhere to go and we can stay in bed as long as we want (until our bladders or our tummies force us to get up that is.)

5. Talking on the phone with my sisters or mom

It's sometimes kinda lonely living far away from family, so I love to talk to my sisters and my mom on the phone! It is so awesome to be able to communicate with everyone even though they are so far away and to know what is going on in everybody's lives.

6. The Ocean

I absolutely love the ocean! I never knew how much I loved it until we moved here so close to it! I love how it looks different almost every day. I love just standing on the beach listening to the crashing waves. I love finding fun new seashells. I love walking on the beach barefoot. I just love the ocean!

7. Sour Gummy things

I have always loved sour gummy candies, but now that I am pregnant, my love for them has grown exponentially! My mouth is watering just thinking about them. I especially love the Jolly Rancher sour gummy candies! Yum!

8. Chocolate

Need I say more?

9. Cafe Rio

One thing I miss about living in St. George (besides being so close to family that is) is Cafe Rio! I really wish we had a Cafe Rio nearby, but unfortunately for us the closest one to us is about an 8 hour drive away. Sometimes we try to replicate Cafe Rio salad for dinner, but no matter how hard we try it just isn't quite the same thing.

10. Having a clean house

I love it when my house is clean! I'm not the best at keeping the house clean but I always feel so much better about life in general when everything is put away in its place. Since I've been pregnant I haven't been the best at my domestic duties, I struggle to make meals and my house has suffered as well. Last week Jacob and I took a day and just cleaned our house (we had people coming over) and now I love to be at home because our home looks so nice!

Now I tag any one who reads this and wants to be tagged!

14 weeks (and 1 day)

We are 14 weeks and one day along and I finally decided to share a picture of the baby bump in honor of Mother's Day. At this point I don't really look particularly pregnant, mostly I just look fat, but that is okay. Jacob was so cute today for Mother's Day! He "helped" our baby make a Mother's Day card for me! What a sweet husband! For now the morning sickness is starting to pass and I am feeling good more consistantly. According to my What to Expect When You're Expecting book our baby is now about the size of my fist! I feel like he or she is taking up much more room than that! Although according to the same book, my uterus is also the size of a small melon this month which is more what it feels like! My pants are starting to get a little tight and feel a little uncomfortable when I am sitting down. It is kind of exciting to feel this little one growing inside me! It will be even more fun when we can finally feel him or her kick and when we can finally stop calling our baby him or her! We still have a few weeks before that can happen.

12 weeks

Wow! It is so crazy that I am already 12 weeks along! It is almost time to say goodbye to my first trimester! Yay! Our baby weighs about 1/2 ounce and is about 2 1/2 inches long! My first doctors appointment will be next Tuesday. Unfortunately that appointment isn't with the OB. It is with my primary care physician who will then refer me to an OB. I like the free medical that comes with Jacob being in the military, but I don't like the long waits to get into the doctors!
I can hardly believe that April is almost over and that May starts this week! Where has this year gone? It seems like in only just started and now it is almost half over! This little baby is probably going to be here before we know it and we haven't done a thing to prepare for it! I wish we knew what the gender of our baby is! It would be so nice to be able to call it a him or a her instead of an it! Sometimes I just sit and wonder what our baby will be like. Is it a boy or a girl? What will our baby look like? What types of things will he or she like to do? Will they be into music or sports or reading or will they just like to spend time playing with family and friends? Will they be a tease like their mom or will they be smart like their dad? I have so many questions! I am so excited to meet this child of mine when it comes!

The Most Amazing Husband Ever!

I must have done something really good in the pre-exsistance to be blessed with such a wonderful husband! The past few weeks I have been quite sick and Jacob has been the one to suffer from it, but not once has he complained. The kitchen makes me nauseas so can I forget about making dinner, and the dishes are out of the question. I seriously haven't made dinner for a couple of weeks and Jacob has just been so perfect doing what ever he can to help me. I really couldn't ask for a more perfect husband! Even on my more emotional days he doesn't get frustrated with me, he just patiently waits for me to calm down and hugs me and tells me he loves me. He goes to work all day and then comes home and takes care of me all evening! I don't know what I would do without him, and I don't want to find out! He is so excited to be a daddy, and is very anxious to find out the gender of our baby! He is going to be such a good dad! I just love him so much!
