Pumpkins

So just about anybody who knows me, knows that I'm obsessed with pumpkins. They make me happy, what can I say. There isn't really a pumpkin season at our house like in most houses, because we cook with pumpkin all year long. Although their kind of is a pumpkin season because during the months of September til December we consume more pumpkin than the rest of the year put together. But my pumpkin obsession isn't just limited to eating. It is the actual beautiful orange vegetable in all it's happy orange fall goodness that I'm obsessed with. It's totally just a perk (albeit a majorly huge one) that you can eat it and it is delicious. I love the time of year when pumpkins replace watermelons in the big bins in front of the stores. That hasn't happened quite yet, and because I'm having a baby in October, I'm afraid I'm going to miss seeing as much of them as I normally like to. Since the gophers ate the pumpkins that I planted, and since I haven't seen them in the stores yet and I'm super anxious for "pumpkin season" to officially start, I've been drawing pumpkins instead. I know, it's silly, but hey, so am I. And my kids love it. I think that my pumpkin obsession has rubbed off on them a little (or a lot). Anyway here is a little pumpkin picture I drew tonight instead of cleaning up (Pumpkins are way more fun that house work!) just in case anyone else is as anxious to see a pumpkin as I am.

A Little Art Lesson

Rachel and I decided to draw some sea creatures this morning. Her picutures made me happy so I thought i would share. :) For each picture I would draw a line and show her what order to do things in, and she would copy it next to mine.

Cute skirt

I have been on a sewing kick lately. I just want to sew everything. I've never taken a sewing class and most of what I've learned has been trial and error. Lots and lots of error. Lol. Since Jacob has been gone (3 weeks) I've sewn a shirt for me and a shirt for Rachel, 7 pairs of pajama pants for Kent, a blanket for Elijah, and this skirt for Rachel. Isn't it cute?

I wish I had gotten a picture of her wearing it today, she made it look even cuter, because she is so dang cute! And she is always so grateful and excited when I make things for her. 

In addition to sewing all these things, a few months ago I made myself 5 skirts and 3 other shirts I could wear while I was pregnant. I made a dress too, which I thought was super cute, but it was a little too tight to be modest, so I had to put it away til I'm a little skinnier. I've made Rachel a few skirts and pajama pants for her and Jacob as well. I love sewing, I just wish I was better at it, lol. 

I make a special pieced blanket for each of my babies before they are born and right now I am working on Elijah's. It isn't anything fancy, but I think it will be kinda cute. Hopefully I'll get it done this week before Jacob comes home. I'll post a picture when I'm done. :)

Silly Boy!

This is where Kent fell asleep last night after insisting he wasn't tired and refusing to get on his bed. I couldn't even get the door open to move him to his bed for a few hours. It totally broke my heart to have to leave him asleep there. I was able to open the door only wide enough to stick my arm in and take a picture so I could see where he was. When I saw his head against the door I decided not to try opening it farther until he had moved a little. Oh I love this silly boy of mine.
