Blessing Blanket

So a while ago I decided that I was going to learn to crochet and that I was going to make a blanket for my baby. At the time we didn't know if our baby was a boy or a girl so I decided to make a blessing blanket because no matter the gender the blanket could be white. I got on you tube and figured out how to get started and now I finally finished it! I love it! I think it is so fun! I will definitely be doing more projects now that I figured out how to crochet. Here is my first finished project!

I'm not really sure if you can tell in these pictures but this ribbon is a really cute pink color. In the picture I think it kind of looks red. Oh well.

Its a . . . girl!

Yep thats right folks. Our baby is a girl! We are so excited to finally know what we are going to have! I got a little teared up again watching this ultrasound! It was so fun to see our little baby wiggling inside me! I was so glad that Jacob could come see the ultrasound this time! The doctor says everything looks good. Our baby is measuring just a little bit big, but not big enough to change my due date again. I love feeling this little wiggly baby! It makes me feel so happy every time I feel her kick and move! Our baby this week is about 7 inches long and the doctor said she weighs about 14 ounces! I love this picture the doctor gave us of her. It shows her cute little profile! I'm so excited to actually get to see her and hold her. I still have a while for that yet though.

Our Trip to the Redwoods!

Ever since we realized how close we lived to the redwoods we have really wanted to go see them, but for one reason or another we have never been to see them. We planned to go numerous times, but something always came up. With our time here coming to a close we decided to take a day and just go and it was a blast! We had so much fun! Jacob thought it would be fun to get some MRE's and have that for lunch and they were okay. They definitely aren't something I am going to crave, but they were pretty fun.

We decided to go on a hike while we were there and it was a lot of fun! I was pretty much the biggest wuss in the world and had to stop and rest quite often, but Jacob was just so cute and he never once got impatient with me for being so slow! He just kept telling me how tough I was and he insisted on carrying all of our stuff because I was already carrying our baby! What a cute boy I married! We ended up hiking about two miles. Later that night I regretted going on the hike a little bit. My hips hurt so bad I could barely lift my legs into bed! It was all the uphill hiking we did!

Something we didn't plan for when we planned our trip were all of the mosquitos! We don't get mosquitos here in Monterey, probably because it is too cold, but within the first 5 minutes I already been bitten three times, so we had to break down and buy a tiny bottle of insect repellent that cost 7 dollars! Ridiculous that it cost so much but totally worth it not to be eaten alive!

This is me in front of a cross section of a 1400 year old redwood. When Columbus sailed to America, this tree was already almost a thousand years old!

We had such a fun day seeing the Redwoods! They were so amazing! I couldn't believe how big they were! Anyone who has the chance to see them should definitely take it!

New Camera!

For my birthday this year, Jacob bought me the cutest, funnest camera ever! It is little and red and I just love it! He gave it to my a few days early because he was just so exited about it and I'm glad he did because we have had a lot of fun playing with it this weekend. I don't really know how to take good pictures (as you will be able to tell from the pictures I post) but it is still fun trying!

My camera has this cool feature where you can put it on smile mode and it won't take the picture until whoever is in the picture is smiling. It is pretty funny, we had a lot of fun playing with that!

Half-way!

Today I am officially half-way done with my pregnancy! I am exactly 20 weeks along! We were so excited that we decided to have a half a party tonight! We ate half cookies, and got half price on our dinner. We wore half red and half tan cloths. As you can see from the pictures I only got half ready too! I tried to convince Jacob to only shave half of his face this morning, but he decided against it, he didn't want to get in trouble at school. It is so exciting to know that we are halfway there to seeing our new little member of our family!
