Elijah

I think my little Elijah boy had been playing too hard and not getting enough rest because today he came down with a cold. He decided he was done with naps about a month ago, and has exchanged them for an earlier bed time usually around 6 o'clock. While we've been in Florida, we've been spending almost all our time outside, which this kid loves, but I think it's been taking it's toll. Today is the second day this week that Elijah has gotten extremely badly in the afternoon and I've had to lay him down and MAKE him take a nap. If you have a two year old, you know it isn't easy to make them do anything they don't want to do! Once I finally get him to lay down though, he falls asleep within minutes. 3:30 is really an awful time for a nap, but sometimes it just needs to happen. I love my tired little two year old! And I especially love when he falls asleep with his cute little arms around my neck.

Today when we saw the ocean Kent said, "Mom this must be the Lake of Shining Waters!"

Good Kids

Our kids have been such troopers in the car!! We are incredibly blessed with such good travelers they are. We've been listening to audio books and they each have a stack of things next to them to keep them entertained and they have been happy. Elijah is the one who's been struggling the most, but then I give him something else and he's happy again for a while.

Dinosaur State Park

We stopped at the funnest state park in Texas today. I wish we could have spent a whole day there instead of the couple of hours that we did. They had dinosaur tracks which were cool to see, but I think everyone's favorite park was playing in the cold water. It was nice too, because everyone of the kids fell in the water but it didn't matter because we had our trailer with us so we were able to get them all changed into dry clothes before we kept going on our trip. We seriously need to plan to go back to that state park sometime and spend more time there!
