Pizza

Pizza is no longer Rachel's favorite food. In fact, tonight I told Rachel we were going to have pizza for dinner (thinking she would be excited) and she said, "Well, pizza isn't very healthy, so maybe we should have something else." I'm not sure who is talking to her about all this healthy stuff, but they need to stop! j/k Actually it's probably me talking to her and she's just listening more than I realize. We still did have pizza tonight, (a frozen one, and I totally have heart burn from it), but she told me tonight very enthusiastically that she likes egg burritos way more than she likes pizza. In fact, neither one of the kids were very excited about the pizza tonight. Kent never eats it very well unless I let him dip it in ranch and even then he is eating it for the ranch. Silly kids!

They dressed themselves

So I sent Rachel up to get dressed this morning and Kent followed her. She dresses herself everyday and does a pretty decent job of it, (I'm not sure the leggings match today though). While Kent was upstairs, he decided to dress himself. He is wearing the jammie shirt that Rachel took off this morning (inside out).
And he also decided to wear a pair of Rachel's underwear up over the top of his own. (He has both legs in one leg whole and they are pulled up over his hips). He is going to hate that I'm not going to let him wear this out of the house today. Leggings that don't match are one thing, but wearing your sisters inside out Jammie shirt and her underwear is a whole other matter.

I love these silly kids!

Spelling

Rachel has been writing for a quite a while now and I love it. I can't tell you how many pictures and messages she writes me every single day and sweetly leaves on my pillow for me to find when I go to bed. I love seeing the things going on in her little head and tryin to decipher her spelling and handwriting. I keg it even more when I can actually tell what she wrote. Lol. Here are a few notes she wrote me yesterday.

Actually this first one she didn't write yesterday, I just found it when I was taking pictures of the other ones.

It says, " I love mi famule (family) mi famule can be togehtr for evr. I wish mi famule cood go to th tepll. (Temple)" she told me after she wrote this that she was talking about her husband and kids one day. I'm telling you, there is a little adult in there sometimes.

"I sdand oll amsd (stand all amazed)" and then even she couldn't tell me what the third like said "I just gotey (got) her (here) I luv Jeses"

"A lug tim a go in a byouetrful plas I livde" (a long time ago in a beautiful place, I lived." She told me as she was writing this one and the one before this one "this one really is true mom!" In the picture she  she said she drew herself and she drew Jesus and other people that were in heaven too. I love seeing evidence that she knows where she came from and that she is taking in the things she is being taught.

"I love to see the teple (temple)" In this one she drew some people in the temple and then she said she drew a 12 year old girl on her birthday walking to the temple about to go in for the first time and that she wanted to get baptized for other people.

The next one I wanted to add just because she was giggling and giggling when she drew it. She drew a monster and was trying to write monster at the top but accidentally wrote mom instead. She erased the mom, but her accident made her laugh and laugh. She said "I'm so crazy sometimes!" Doesn't she draw a cute little monster?

I have quite the pile of papers from her on my night stand that I need to go through and take a few pictures of before I throw them all away. There is one in particular that she wrote to Kent that cracks me up every time I think about it that I need to put on here. :) I love seeing my kids learn new things!

Hot Dog Water Anyone?

Rachel requested toast and hot chocolate for breakfast this morning because we were all cold when we woke up. I haven't bought hot chocolate mix for months. Probably not since Christmas time, and we definitely didn't have any on hand. Still I decided to make some hot chocolate, trying out the recipe I had seen earlier this week on the coco container. It was yummy! (Just so ya know). Anyway, my purpose in posting this was because Kent could not remember that it was called hot chocolate. He kept calling it "hot water" or my personal favorite "hot dog water." Funny kid! He just couldn't get hot chocolate to stick in his head. Lol. Hot dog water doesn't sound nearly as good as hot chocolate for breakfast, or anytime really!

I am blessed

I decided that I am a baby. Jacob has gone to Morocco to study Arabic for one month, and I'm not going to lie, it is hard. I am pregnant and have two kids that completely depend on me for everything. I've been typing up some family history stories lately and today I came across one for my Great-Great-Great-Great Grandparents, James Huntsman and Hannah Davis. They joined the church soon after it was restored on the earth and suffered with the saints as they were driven from state to state. They suffered all sorts of afflictions and then when it came time to go to Utah, James went ahead with one of their children to get a place ready for them. He came back to get the rest of his family 3 years later! They were apart for 3 years! She had with her at least 6 kids (not sure on the exact number she had with her). That is 3 years where they didn't know when they would see each other next. They had no emails texts or FaceTime, which is how I keep in contact with my hubby while he is gone. How they dealt with a separation like that, I have no idea. That is such a long time to be apart from your spouse. Such a long time to have to be strong and not have your companion to help you with anything. I was having a really  hard day yesterday with the kids and just dealing with being alone, but even though I was having a hard time, I wasn't really alone. Not completely. I was able to text Jacob and we were able to talk on FaceTime for a few minutes and he was able to tell me he loved me and that he was praying for me and give me comfort. The kids were able to see their Daddy and talk to him even though he was far away. We have another separation coming up before too long. This one will be 3 months and I will be with 3 kids instead of just two (thankfully I won't be pregnant though). Yesterday during my hard day, I wasn't sure that I would be able to make it alone for 3 months and was trying in my mind to figure out any way for us to be able to go with him. Its not practical and probably not really even possible, but yesterday I couldn't face the thought of another 3 months alone with the kids. I can't imagine facing 3 years apart! I can do this. I am strong. I need to count my blessings and be grateful for what I have, because it could be a whole lot worse. I am blessed to live in this time of internet and smart phones while we are in the military and have to be apart from each other. I can communicate with Jacob almost every day during our separation and the kids can see him and talk to him as well. I am blessed.
