A Big Rooster

Rachel loves babies. She gets super excited when we see them in church or if she sees one when I'm checking friends blogs.


She is constantly pulling my shirt up so she can kiss my baby, or blow on my baby, or so she can share her sippy cup with it.

 

I especially love it when she pulls my shirt up so we can sing The Eensy Weensy  Spider to my baby.

We have a few books that talk about a baby or that have babies in them and she wants to read them over and over and over again. My favorite is a book that is called I'm a big sister. I got it for just a couple of bucks on Amazon to help get Rachel ready for our baby to come. The reason its my favorite is because for some reason, Rachel thinks that we are saying a big rooster when when we say big sister and always makes her rooster sound which is super cute. Now sometimes when she is just jabbering away about who knows what, she will slip in the word baby and start making her rooster sound. 

I can point to the characters in the book and every time she will say baby when I point to the baby and make her rooster noise when I point to the sister. I'm convinced that she thinks she is going to be a big rooster when our baby comes.

Yep, the picture says it all. It's a little boy! Kent Russell Bulloch is on his way and despite what the above picture shows, we couldn't be more thrilled! 

 

Rachel is constantly kissing and hugging my baby these days, and I love it!

This next picture makes me laugh because if you look close you can actually see him sticking out his tongue.

 

Please don't mind our appearance in these pictures. We left from the ultrasound to go out of town yesterday and only got home about a half hour earlier so both Rachel and I are both pretty worn out. 

Something interesting, I thought that I was having a girl. I wanted Rachel to have a sister to play with and I just thought it would be easier because I know how to take care of a girl. About an hour and a half before going to the ultrasound I was putting Rachel down for a nap and I got this impression that the Lord needs to get his missionaries down to the earth to share the gospel and I just knew we were having a boy. We went into the ultrasound and as soon as the image showed up on the screen there were his little boy parts, showing for all the world to see. He wasn't modest at all, for which I was grateful.I'm so excited to meet him. Ever since we found out that he is a boy, I can't stop thinking about him. What will he be like? What will he look like? What types of things will make him laugh? I love this little boy so much already.

Today's the day!

"Today's the day, the sun is shining, the tank is clean!" 

Today we finally get to find out the gender of our new little baby on the way. I am so excited! I'm excited to call this baby by name or refer to it as he or she instead of it! I'm excited to teach Rachel how to say baby sister or baby brother and to teach her this little ones name (once we figure it out that is.) I'm excited to start sewing baby blankets and buying whatever else we need for our new little one. I like to be as prepared as possible, I would have a really hard time not finding out my baby's gender til they were born. I'm glad I don't have to! It's kind of exciting, in my family there are 7 grandsons and 7 granddaughters so which ever my baby is will tip the scales. :) Also in Jacob's family there are 4 granddaughters and no grandsons, so we could either be having the 5th girl or the 1st boy. Either one would be fun. Jacob is sure that this little one is a boy, mostly because this pregnancy has been so different than my last one. My guess is girl. Partially so that one of us can be right, and I just think it would be fun for Rachel to have a sister. Either way though, we will be thrilled. I'm just excited to finally know. Wish me luck that this baby will be wiggly and not too modest!

Ring Around the Rosies

Rachel loves to dance. A few months ago we taught her Ring Around the Rosies for a family night game and she has loved it ever since. She always wants to do it over and over again. I'm lucky because she doesn't need to hold my hands to do it anymore the way she used to. Now she will just turn in a circle all by herself. She makes me laugh because when she is telling me she wants to do Ring Around the Rosies, she just gets up and starts turning in a circle and kind of tries to hum while looking pointedly at me like, "Aren't you going to start singing, Mom?" I love watching her dance and figured I better get it on video while she is still little. Isn't she cute?

Just like Mama again

Here are a few pictures I forgot to put in my other post. I asked Rachel to bring me a blanket which she did, but she immediately turned around to get one for her too and this is what she did.
