4-6-9!!

My kids keep climbing on the bottom stair in our house and jumping to the bottom over and over again. Rachel started it of course, and Kent is doing it to be like her. She had to show her daddy her cool tricks and the Kent would do it and ask dad "cool?" Rachel started counting and saying, "1,2,3 JUMP!" So Kent started jumping and yelling, "4,6,9!!!" He wants to be just like her. I love it!

Just like daddy

I caught kent in Jacob's office the other day. Sitting in daddy's chair, with daddy's headphones on (kinda), and opening his laptop. He was a little alarmed at getting caught and really mad when I made him leave. I thought it was cute though, seeing him trying to be just like daddy!

Easter Eggs

Today my kids and I dyed Easter eggs for the first time. I knew that if we were ever going to do it, that we would have to do it with out Jacob since he is super busy. I was a little nervous doing it with the kids by myself. Mostly about Kent, my little wild, independent munchkin, but he was fascinated enough with it that he mostly watched and just touched when I told him he could. We only had one spill and thankfully it was only a little vinegar before the dye was put in. 

Our only other incident was when Rachel got to close to the red dye and her hair got dipped in it. Oops! Next time, I'll remember to put her hair in a pony tail. ;) when I told her that her hair was pink she laughed and thought it was funny. :)

Next up: making potato salad for the first time with some of these eggs.

My conversation with Kent this morning (we had been talking about what to eat for breakfast):

Kent: Josh? Josh?

Me: Josh is on a mission! He's a missionary in Panama!

Kent: Jesus?

Me: Yes! He's teaching about Jesus and being like Jesus!

Kent: Owie.

Me: Yes, Jesus got owies.

Kent: Mary?

Me: yep! Mary was sad an crying because Jesus died and she couldn't find his body, but then she was happy because Jesus was resurrected!

Kent: rected?

Me: that's right! Jesus was resurrected! He came back to life after he died! 

I thought it was cute because he prompted this conversation on his own. I showed him pictures of his  Uncle Josh yesterday, so maybe that's why it was on his mind. We've also been talking about how Jesus was resurrected a lot because of Easter coming up. Cute huh? It's nice to know something is sticking. 

Reading

Super cute moment of the day: seeing Rachel read a book to her friends that were visiting. It was fun to see the three little girls huddled around the book listening to her read. I wish I had taken a picture! I'm so proud of my big reading girl!
